AOH Division 32 - 2012 Annual Dues As we begin the New Year here is our 3rd reminder that your 2012 Annual Dues are now being accepted at the March meeting. Division 32 has maintained the annual dues at $50.00 per year for the past several years. As part of the yearly dues, each Division is required to pre-pay $13.00 to both the State and National Hibernians for per capita dues. Please make every effort to pay AOH dues at a meeting, or send to: Financial Secretary Patrick Flaherty, 5142 N. Leavitt St., Chicago, IL 60625-6829. Thanks for all your support! St. Patrick's Day Parade and Party Tom Rowan and Gerry Loughran will co-chair the 2012 event that is on St Pat's Day March 17, 2012. The date alone will ensure a great time is had by all. The Riordan brothers will prepare their world famous corned beef and live music will be provided. The event will take place at Gordon Tech H.S. after the parade. Tom and Gerry are looking for volunteers to help out with this special event. Tom can be contacted at 847-698-1938 or Gerry at 847-823-5665. Please step-up and lend your support to help ensure this is a great party. Tickets are $30. Bus tickets to the parade are only $5 so purchase them at the March 7th meeting to guarantee a spot at a truly great Irish event. Tom Hoffman will be selling AOH Claddagh ring pins for $5.00 and Irish wrist bands for $4.00 at the party. Also, discounted Golden Glove tickets for boxing event following the party will be available for those interested. Annual AOH Charity Golf Outing This year's Charity Golf Outing is set for Saturday May 19 with a 1:30 shotgun start, the Saturday after Mother's Day. Saturday is a change from the traditional Friday outing so start making your plans to attend. Please consider putting together a foursome and start lining up sponsors for this most important charity event. Sign up sheets for golfers & sponsors are now available. $120 for day & $50 dinner only. AOH County News — Frank Kehoe Remember that next year's raffle tickets are now available from Frank Kehoe with the first drawing on St. Patrick's Day after the parade. Tickets are $10 each and all tickets are entered in each month's drawings from March 2012 to February 2013! Only 500 tickets will be sold. Drawings will be once each month at a Div/County Board Meeting. Proceeds support the parade float costs. The following are the February raffle winners: The $100 winner is: Kory D'Angelo; the $25 winners are Vince Incrocci, Martin Kalina, Tony Noonan, Dennis Kucia & Lori McCaffry. Congratulations to all. President's Message Brothers, March is a great time to for the Irish, with the Saint Patrick's Day celebrations there is no better time to increase our Divisions membership. We've all met people who want to know about the Hibernians, who we are and what we do, so while everyone is taking pride in their heritage let's get out and spread our message and bring in members. I've had Division 32 business cards printed with an area on the back for members contact information. These will distributed at the March general meeting. Tom Rowan and Gerry Loughran have done a great job organizing this year's St. Patrick's Day Party. They will be asking for volunteers to help out on the 17th, the more help, the less any one individual will have to do. We're expecting a good turnout so show up, do your part and let's have a great time — Fraternally, Sean O'Dowd General Topics • Reiterating an important point made at the February meeting, let's be respectful & courteous to each other during the course of the meeting. It is very difficult to conduct business when several conversations are occurring outside the meeting's agenda or current topic being presented or discussed. • For meetings, remember to bring change for the beer kitty (Still $1) & for Split the Pot & all other fund raising or event tickets to make things easier for our brothers running these activities • Polar Plunge is on March 4th at North Avenue Beach @10am. Charity-Ed Morley / Don Kehoe If you are requesting a charity donation please come to the Executive meeting one month before the request is due and present your case.
